Firearms Offences

Firearms offences are primarily governed by the Firearms Act 1968 and related legislation. They can include possession of a prohibited weapon, possession of a firearm or ammunition without a certificate, possession with intent to endanger life, supply, manufacture, importation, or conspiracy to commit such offences.

Firearms convictions can carry severe penalties, including mandatory minimum sentences for certain offences such as possession of a prohibited weapon. Sentences can range from several years’ imprisonment to life imprisonment, depending on the nature of the allegation and the surrounding circumstances.
